(Salem, OR) -- Police in Salem are investigating two separate shootings that left at least one person injured in Salem on Saturday. Police say the first shooting happened near Silverton Road and Lansing Avenue Northeast. An officer was reportedly parked nearby when he heard gunshots and then saw two vehicles speed past him with one of the vehicles apparently chasing the other. Police pursued the vehicles and eventually arrested 20-year-old Jonathan Carranza and a teenage passenger. The second shooting happened later that night near Wallace Road and Edgewater Street Northwest. Police rushed one person to a hospital with injuries and are still searching for a suspect.
