DEA Warns About Fentanyl Coming Into PNW

(Portland, OR) -- The Drug Enforcement Administration is issuing a warning about fentanyl being moved into the Pacific Northwest by the Mexican drug cartel CJNG. The DEA says the synthetic opioid is being mixed with other illicit drugs including cocaine, heroin, meth and pills. Fentanyl has led to an increase in both non-fatal and fatal overdoses nationwide. More than 83-thousand people died from drug-related overdoses in 2020 across the U.S.
