Portland Water Bureau Gets Federal Loan For Water Treatment Facility

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Water Bureau is getting a federal loan of over 700-million dollars to build a water treatment facility.  The facility will remove the microorganism Cryptosporidium and other contaminants from the Bull Run Reservoir.  It will also add better corrosion control to reduce potential lead in the water.  The plant is necessary in order to comply with federal regulations.
