Judge Apologizes For Comments Denigrating Black Man Killed By Police

(Vancouver, WA)  --  A judge in Vancouver, Washington is apologizing for his comments denigrating a Black man who was shot to death by police during a drug bust last year.  The Columbian reports District Court Judge Darvin Zimmerman issued a statement yesterday announcing he's taking time off to reflect on his comments about 21-year-old Kevin Peterson Jr.  Zimmerman was caught on a live mic calling Peterson, quote, "the Black guy they're trying to make an angel out of."  Zimmerman also called Peterson, quote, "so dumb."  Police shot and killed Peterson last October after he ran from officers trying to arrest him for allegedly arranging to sell 50 Xanax pills to a confidential informant.
