(Silverton, OR) -- A Silverton-area father accused of shooting his son several times makes his first court appearance today. The Marion County Sheriff's Office says 72-year-old Willie Madewell shot his 37-year-old son on Friday. The victim was hospitalized for several bullet wounds. Police say Madewell surrendered without incident and is facing a charge of second-degree attempted murder. His son is expected to survive.
