(Molalla, OR) -- Police in Clackamas County say they've identified human remains found in Molalla as a man who was reported missing more than four decades ago. Detectives announced yesterday the remains discovered in a wilderness area in January were those of Kenneth Bell of Contra Costa County in California. Bell's mother reported him missing in 1979 after he disappeared during a trip from the Bay Area to Washington state, where he was going to visit family. Police say detectives made the identification based on personal items found near the remains. DNA testing is underway to confirm his identity.
