(Salem, OR)  --  The Detroit Lake State Recreation Area will start to reopen on April 20th.  The Santiam Canyon wildfires forced the area to close last September.  Officials say staff have cleared burned vegetation and repaired a damaged water tank.  Residents can begin making camping reservations at Detroit Lake starting at 6 a.m. on April 19th.  Officials plan to open the park in phases.
