Mayor Wheeler Extends Emergency Declaration For Portland

(Portland, OR)  --  The city of Portland remains under a state of emergency following Tuesday's announcement of a guilty verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial.  Mayor Ted Wheeler announced yesterday he's extending his emergency declaration for another 24 hours in anticipation of potential unrest.  Former Officer Chauvin was convicted of killing Floyd in Minneapolis last May after kneeling on his neck for more than nine minutes while taking him into custody.
