(Oregon City, OR) -- Clackamas County Commissioner Chair Tootie Smith is criticizing Governor Kate Brown's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Smith released a statement on Twitter Monday calling the governor's lockdowns "unacceptable" and accusing her of throwing businesses into bankruptcy. Smith says county health officials should determine how to handle the pandemic for their communities. Governor Brown announced yesterday that 15 of Oregon's counties will move backwards into the "extreme risk" category due to surging case numbers and hospitalizations as Oregon experiences a fourth wave of the ongoing pandemic.
