OHA Projection Shows Continued Slight Decline In New COVID-19 Cases

(Portland, OR) -- The Oregon Health Authority's latest forecast of COVID-19 cases shows a slight decline in new cases will continue. The reproduction rate of the virus is point-nine-one, which is slightly higher than last week but indicates transmission of the virus is slowing. If that continues, officials say there would be an average of 15-hundred new cases a day and 81 hospitalizations. OHA says wearing masks and taking precautions to limit spread of the virus will continue to reduce the number of cases, along with more people getting vaccinations.
