Off-Duty Vancouver Police Officer Killed

(Vancouver, WA) -- An off-duty Vancouver, Washington Police officer is dead after being shot and killed by a Sheriff's deputy in his home early Sunday morning. The Oregonian reports Officer Donald Sahota was scuffling with an armed robbery suspect when the shooting happened. The incident began with a robbery at a convenience store in Orchards. The suspect fled in a car, ditched the vehicle in Battle Ground and broke into Sahota's home. A Clark County Sheriff's deputy fired and killed Sahota as he struggled with the suspect. Sahota had been with the Vancouver Police Department since 2014. He had a wife and two children.
