TriMet Adds Four E-Buses

(Portland, OR) -- TriMet has received four new third generation electric buses. They were made by Gillig in Livermore, California and drove 650 miles to Portland. These are the first of 24 new e-buses. They're expected to get around 150 miles to a charge. They have overhead charge rails that can be easily connected to fast-charging stations in Beaverton and then plugged into charging ports at the Powell Operations Facility in Southeast Portland. This is the largest expansion of TriMet's electric charging fleet and will triple the number of e-buses that are in service.
