(Portland, OR) -- Former Portland Mayor Sam Adams is running for Multnomah County Commission District 2. Adams made the announcement yesterday, saying the county lacks focus, urgency, and accountability. He wants to end unsanctioned outdoor homelessness, improve addiction and mental health treatment, stop gun violence and crime, and create more affordable housing. Two other candidates have filed to run for District 2, they are Jessie Burke and Shannon Singleton. Former Commissioner Susheela Jayapal resigned to run for Congress. The interim commissioner is Jesse Beason.
