(Portland, OR) -- The suspect in the murder of an elderly woman in Portland's Lents neighborhood earlier this month is now jailed. Portland Police say 70-year-old William Haynes was released Wednesday from a local hospital, where he was treated for a medical condition unrelated to his wife's homicide or contact with police. He's accused of fatally shooting 85-year-old Jeannette Becraft, who was found dead in a home on Southeast 100th Avenue on February 8th. Haynes has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Second-Degree Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
