(Newport, OR) -- A Lincoln County transit bus was stolen on Sunday and recovered thanks to a cell phone. The driver parked the bus at the Lincoln County fuel pumps, went inside to use a bathroom, and the bus was stolen when the driver returned. The driver left a cell phone in the bus which police used to track it to a home in Newport. The suspect who stole the bus fled the scene. Security video from inside of the bus showed the suspect had a red beard and was wearing a "Rip City" hoodie. Police are asking for help identifying the suspect.
