Foster Child Dies In State Custody
(Salem, OR) -- An investigation is underway into the death of a 17-year-old who was in Oregon foster care. The Oregon Health Authority says the child was in temporary lodging, staying in a hotel with Oregon Department of Human Services employees when the child took their own life. OHA and DHS are investigating the death. They released a statement saying they had worked for an extended period of time to connect the child with appropriate services and support.
