(Washington, D.C.) -- You can start filing income taxes on January 27th. Both the IRS and Oregon Department of Revenue will start accepting tax returns. The IRS estimates 640-thousand Oregonians will be able to use IRS Direct File and Direct File Oregon free tax software. Use the IRS Eligibility Checker on its website to see whether you qualify for the free software. Refunds aren't issued until after February 15th for fraud protection.
