(Salem, OR) -- The REAL ID deadline is May 7th. Anyone flying after that date will need a REAL ID driver's license or a passport. The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles says it takes at least two weeks for the license to arrive and they're concerned a rush of applications will cause delays. The DMV has increased the number of REAL ID appointments to handle the higher demand. If you aren't flying anytime soon, you can wait to apply.
