(Portland, OR) -- Dozens of unionized hospitalists rallied outside Legacy Good Samaritan on Labor Day, pressing for a fair contract after 18 months of negotiations with Legacy Health. Organizers said the demonstration was not a strike, but a show of frustration over short staffing and heavy workloads, which they warn could impact patient care. The union represents more than 200 doctors across the Legacy system, though no new bargaining sessions are currently scheduled.
