(Portland, OR)  --  Residents of Oregon and Washington are being warned about stagnant air in the Pacific Northwest.  The National Weather Service says pollution is being trapped near ground level by light winds and a high-pressure area, resulting in degraded air quality.  Forecasters say the conditions could continue through Friday in areas both east and west of the Cascades.
