West Nile Virus Detected In Eagle Point

(Eagle Point, OR) -- West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in Eagle Point. It's the first time this year the virus has been detected in Oregon. July, August, and September are peak months for West Nile virus activity in Jackson County. The Oregon Health Authority says residents should take steps to avoid being bitten by infected mosquitoes. People who develop flu-like symptoms should check with their doctor.
