Longtime Owner of Portland Grocery Store Dies
(Portland, OR) -- The longtime owner of a popular Portland grocery store -- Vince Torchia of the Sheridan Fruit Company -- has died. The company announced his passing last night online. Torchia was 90 when he died July 11th. The store closed in February after serving the Portland community for 110 years. He and his wife Carol, who died two years ago, worked for more than 60 years building the store into an integral part of Portland.
