Grand Jury Clears Officers In Deadly Lincoln County Shooting
(Lincoln City, OR) -- A grand jury finds two officers were justified in a deadly shooting involving a man they were trying to arrest. The Lincoln County District Attorney's Office says Oregon State Police Lieutenant Joey Pollard and Newport Police Officer Jerimiah Mangum were trying to arrest 50-year-old Daniel Noonan on June 17th. That's when Noonan allegedly fired at officers, who shot back. Noonan was later found with gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital, where he died.
