(Oakridge, OR) -- A 26-year-old Oregon City man drowned in the Willamette River west of Oakridge earlier this month. The Lane County Sheriff's Office says Justin Brudvig was with his family at Black Canyon Campground about a week ago. His father told deputies that his son was pulled out of the water and wasn't breathing. Bystanders performed CPR until firefighters arrived, but life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. Officials say he was paddleboarding on the river without a lifejacket.
