Portland Fatal Motorcycle Crashes Up 50%
(Portland, OR) -- Fatal motorcycle crashes in Portland are up 50 percent above the four-year average and double the number by this time last year. Portland Police say 11 motorcyclists have been killed, along with eight pedestrians and six drivers or passengers in vehicles. Investigations show some motorcycle riders make unsafe choices, including lane splitting, which is illegal in Oregon, speeding, sudden lane changes and driving impaired.
