(Salem, OR) -- The Oregon Department of Education says most kids like summer school. The 2025 Student Voice Summer Survey Report asked 82-hundred kids for their opinions. About three-quarters of the students said it helped them read and write better and understand what they're reading. Almost all kids said they felt safe and welcome in the program. Eighty-percent said it helped them feel active, healthy and inspired to try new things. Critics of Oregon's summer school program say the kids aren't tested in a way that shows whether it's successful.
