Nexstar Tegna Merger Court Order
(Salem, OR) -- Television station owners Nexstar and Tegna are accused of violating a court order pausing their merger. Oregon, and a coalition of states, is suing to block the merger. A judge ruled the businesses must remain independent while the case moves forward. Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield says Nexstar personnel were recently installed on Tegna's board. He's asking the judge to enforce the previous order. In Oregon, Nexstar owns Portland's KOIN 6 and Tegna owns KGW. A full merger puts both newsrooms and TV operations under single corporate control.
