(Portland, OR)  --  Long-time Portland radio legend Bob Miller has died.  He was 74.  Miller came to Portland in 1979 to be program director at 1190 KEX and host a midday shift.  In 1985, he took over mornings when Jimmy Hollister moved to afternoons.  In 1986, Miller started the Needy Kids Fund which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for kids over Thanksgiving weekends.  Miller was honored by President Ronald Reagan for his public service work.  In 2003, Miller moved to KPAM where he created Operation Santa Claus to help military families.  Bob Miller passed away Sunday at his home in Astoria.  His death follows the passing of iconic Portland radio morning host Craig Walker last week.
