Cold Case Remains Identified After 54 Years
(Coos Bay, OR) -- Skeletonized remains found 54 years ago in Coos County have been identified. The remains were found off Highway 101 near Bandon. They showed signs of homicidal violence, but investigators couldn't identify the remains. A special volunteer cold case investigative team used genetic genealogy to learn the remains were Armes Henry Lahti of Astoria. Police have re-opened the homicide case as they attempt to discover what happened. Lahti was reportedly last seen in 1965 leaving a confrontation at a bar with a rifle.
