(Seaside, OR) -- A 41-year-old man is dead after drowning in the ocean at Seaside on Wednesday evening. Witnesses called 911 around 7:30 p.m. to report two people struggling in the surf. Seaside Fire, Cannon Beach Fire and Coast Guard rescuers launched jet skis and swimmers. They pulled a man from the water. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The city urges beach visitors to always swim with a buddy and avoid areas known for rip currents.
