(Salem, OR) -- An audit by the Oregon Secretary of State finds Department of Corrections facilities don't always identify people who can't speak English. It results in people receiving worse care. It also includes the Oregon Youth Authority. The audit recommends identifying language needs when a person enters the system, making translation available in health care settings and embedding language accessibility throughout facilities. Both agencies agreed with all of the recommendations.
