(Eugene, OR) -- A Lane County Sheriff's deputy suffered serious injuries while arresting an agitated burglary suspect in Eugene on Friday. Douglas Haley broke a window, climbed inside and barricaded himself. The deputy was hurt while entering the building, but engaged with Haley until he was cuffed. Officials say the deputy needed a tourniquet to stop a major bleed, and was treated at a hospital for several injuries. Haley is charged with assault, robbery and other crimes.
