Emerald Ash Borer Infestation Expands
(Beaverton, OR) -- The invasive emerald ash borer is expanding its presence in the Portland area. Officials say it's now been found in traps in Beaverton, Bethany Lake Park, Rockcreek, Salem, the Oregon Garden and along the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. The insect is deadly to ash and olive trees. Salem is injecting 12-hundred trees on city property with an insecticide that protects ash trees. Beaverton is treating 600 trees. Homeowners can learn more at OrgonEAB.com.
