Man Convicted Of TriMet Shooting Sentenced To Life In Prison
(Portland, OR) -- A man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after shooting and killing a man for harassing and yelling slurs at a woman on a TriMet bus. A judge sentenced Wayne Thompson yesterday to life in prison for the shooting in Portland in 2021. Thompson was convicted of second-degree murder for the death of Adrian Richardson. Court records say Richardson boarded a bus and started yelling slurs, curses and other rude comments at a female passenger. Thompson told Richardson to get off the bus. When he refused, witnesses said Thompson shot Richardson multiple times and he died at the scene.
