(Mt. Hood, OR) -- The Grasshopper Fire has forced the closure of Highway 35 eight miles east of the junction with U.S. 26. East winds have been blowing the fire to the west. Highway 35 is closed between the Bennett Pass Snow Park and Baseline Road near Parkdale. The Grasshopper Fire has burned 43-thousand acres. It's 20 percent contained. Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort is under a Level 3 Go Now Evacuation warning.
