Dozer Operator Killed Trapped By Wildfire
(Chiloquin, OR) -- A firefighting dozer operator is dead after becoming overcome by flames while battling a wildfire in southern Oregon. The Klamath County Sheriff's Office says 47-year-old Jason Ensign was using a dozer to help crews build lines around the Wrights Spring Fire when flames covered his escape route. Firefighters, deputies and the Oregon Department of Forestry found his destroyed dozer and Ensign was dead in the cab. Ensign was working for Green Diamond Timber Resource Company.
