Centennial Mills Demolition
(Portland, OR) -- Portland officials say a contractor has been hired to demolish the remains of the Centennial Mills building in Northwest Portland. It was gutted by fire and only a skeleton of concrete walls remains with a huge metal water tower on top. Eugene-based contractor Staton Companies will demolish the building. Because the building is at risk of collapse, the work requires specialized engineering, equipment, and demolition expertise. A large safety perimeter has been created around the building. When people get too close, they're warned by a loud speaker. Drones are prohibited from flying over the building.
