(Rogue River, OR) -- Containment is increasing on a new wildfire in southern Oregon. The Fielder Mountain Fire started Thursday afternoon in the foothills near Rogue River. Strong winds pushed it to more than 570 acres by Sunday. It's now 18-percent contained and visible from I-5. The Oregon Department of Forestry sent a Complex Incident Management Team. FEMA approved the use of federal funds to fight the Fielder Mountain Fire, due to its risk to homes in and around rogue River. It also threatens power distribution lines, several businesses, a school and campgrounds. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
