Washington Park Reservoir Opened After Year-Long Delay
(Portland, OR) -- Portland's Washington Park Reservoir is now open to the public, a year after its completion was celebrated. The more than 12-million-gallon underground reservoir has a reflecting pool and plaza built on top. It remained closed for the last year, because of work needed to finish the project. That included safety features and problems with the reflecting pool. Water got under the liner and wasn't flowing correctly. The project cost 211-million-dollars and was paid for with water user fees.
