Judge Rules Against Federal Government Over Gender Affirming Care

(Salem, OR) -- State Attorney General Dan Rayfield is celebrating a federal judge's ruling against President Trump's attempt to stop Affordable Care Act coverage of gender-affirming care. Rayfield issued a statement yesterday saying, "health care is a lifeline, not a privilege." Oregon and several other states filed a lawsuit against the federal government over the Marketplace Integrity and Affordability rule that was put into place last year. They argued the change would make it harder for consumers to get coverage through the ACA, increase costs for states, and weaken key ACA protections. The Trump Administration can appeal the ruling.
