(Salem, OR) -- Significant progress is being made containing the 22 large wildfires burning in Oregon. The Fielder Mountain fire that started near Rogue River and grew fast due to strong winds is now 29 percent contained at 573 acres. The 373-thousand acre Rowe Creek Complex, south of Fossil, is 89 percent contained. The Grasshopper Fire, east of Mt. Hood, is 47 percent contained at 90-thousand acres. Eighty-four-hundred firefighters are working on all of the major fires burning in the state.
