Oregon Receives Pollinator Funding
(Washington, D.C.) -- The Federal Highway Administration is giving Oregon 150-thousand-dollars to improve habitat for pollinators along Oregon highways. The Roadside Pollinator Program buys native seed mixes that are used by Monarch butterflies and native bee populations. ODOT will adjust mowing heights on the side of highways to allow the plants to bloom. Besides helping butterflies and bees, it also improves drought and fire resilience.
