(Portland, OR) -- Organizers of the Enhanced Community Safety Initiative in Portland have filed a lawsuit against the way signatures were verified. The campaign came up short of the number of signatures necessary to get the measure on the November ballot. They claim the process was arbitrary and had several errors. Portland City Elections says they followed state law in checking the petition signatures.
