(Salem, OR) -- Flags across the country are being lowered to half-staff in honor of Dolly Parton. She died Tuesday at age 80 after an illness. Oregon Governor Tina Kotek is following President Trump with his declaration to lower flags at federal institutions. They'll stay at half-staff until sunset on September first. Kotek issued a statement saying she and the First Lady loved Dolly's music and who she was as a person. State legislative leaders also released a statement saying they are heartbroken over the loss, but her legacy will live on through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
