(Salem, OR) -- Oregon's Secretary of State says he is moving forward with administering the midterm election according to current state law, despite the President's executive order on vote-by-mail. Secretary of State Tobias Read says the U.S. Postal Service has not published new rules related to mailing ballots, which is why the High Court refused to block the vote-by-mail executive order. Read issued a directive to all county clerks, instructing them to proceed with their normal elections preparations. Ballots to military and overseas voters will go out soon. Read says he's talking regularly with the Postal Service to make sure the process moves smoothly and without interference.
