US DOJ Sues Oregon Over In-State Tuition For Non-Citizens

(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. Department of Justice is suing Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and New Mexico for allowing non-citizens to pay in-state tuition at state colleges and universities. The lawsuit claims the in-state tuition is in violation of a law that prohibits states from granting benefits to non-citizens that U.S. citizens can't receive. DOJ has now sued 21 states for granting in-state tuition to non-citizens.
