(Portland, OR) -- Portland Police and other city agencies cleared squatters from a nuisance property near Southeast 111th Avenue and Powell Boulevard last week. The house has been abandoned for several years. It's known for criminal activity and stolen vehicles. Twelve people were at the house and five people were arrested for previous warrants, a stolen vehicle and two for barricading themselves in the home. Conditions inside of the home were so hazardous, officers had to wear protective gear. The house was boarded up to keep future squatters out.
