(Salem, OR) -- The rain is helping to reduce fire danger that's been extreme all summer in Oregon. The State Department of Forestry says it's lowering the fire danger from "extreme" to "high" on state-protected lands. Open fires are still not allowed, except in designated areas. More than 47-hundred personnel remain assigned to nine large wildfires in Oregon, but containment is increasing.
