Deadline Nears For Comment On Trump's Plan To Revoke Roadless Rule

(Portland, OR) -- The deadline is fast approaching for residents to give their opinion on President Trump's plans to remove federal protections from over 44-million acres of national forest. The public comment period for the repeal of the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule ends on Monday, September 21st. The U.S. Forest Service announced last month it will rescind the Roadless Rule in its entirety. The rule established during the Clinton era prohibits logging and new road construction in undeveloped national forest lands. Residents can submit their comments online at regulations-dot-gov.
