(Portland, OR) -- A man who killed a Good Samaritan in Portland has been sentenced to prison. In 2024, Aaron McInnis dropped off a friend at her home in Northeast Portland. A man asked McInnis to help him check a woman he heard crying in a nearby car. Arvoni Hayes was in the car with his girlfriend. He got out of the car naked, dove into the vehicle and told his girlfriend to drive away. McInnis ran after the car. Hayes stopped, got out and shot McInnis who died at a hospital. Hayes was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
